Man Utd handed Bruno Fernandes blow vs Charlton Athletic

Manchester United have been handed a selection blow with Bruno Fernandes unavailable to face Charlton Athletic in the Carabao Cup quarter-final.

The Portuguese has struggled to provide regular goal contributions over the past year, but remains a key player for the club.

Erik ten Hag has barely rested him throughout this term, but he won't have his services tomorrow. The playmaker is suspended.

Fernandes was booked in the 4-2 win over Aston Villa in the third round before receiving another yellow card versus Burnley last month.

He is now suspended for two bookings and United will have to find someone else to play in the number 10 role tomorrow.

Donny van de Beek is also sidelined with a knee injury and we could see Christian Eriksen play in the attacking position.

If Ten Hag wants to rest the Dane, there could be a full debut for club graduate Zidane Iqbal, who has been waiting for his chance.

Iqbal has yet to play a minute under the Dutch manager this term.
