Diogo Dalot speaks on his Manchester United future
Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot has confirmed that negotiations are underway over a new long-term deal.
The Portuguese has been one of United's best performers this term and he has played almost every game under Erik ten Hag.
United recently triggered an extension clause in his contract to keep him until June 2024. Dalot has now confirmed talks over a fresh renewal.
The 23-year-old is currently one of the lowest earners at the club at £25,000-a-week. He is likely to demand around £100,000-a-week to stay.
United should have no problem in meeting his contract demands, but the big question is whether the player will stay committed to them.
With interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid, he could be swayed to snub their contract to join one of the Spanish giants in the summer.
United have no plans of selling him at the moment, but it has been reported that they could demand £30m if he does not renew by June.
