Tottenham make bid for Danilo Oliveira

Tottenham have had an offer for Brazilian midfielder Danilo Oliveira accepted, believed to be in the region of $38 million. Spurs are hopeful that personal terms can be agreed swiftly and that the 20-year-old midfielder will arrive at White Hart Lane before the end of the January transfer window, becoming the club's first signing of the month.
The midfielder has caught the eye at Palmeiras, helping the Brazilian Serie A side to successive Copa Libertadores titles and a range of other domestic titles, including the Copa do Brasil, Campeonato Brasileiro, Recopa Sudamericana and Campeonato Paulista. On an individual level, Oliveira has already won the Fifa Club World Cup Bronze Ball in 2021, making the player one of South America's most prodigious talents.
Danilo is a versatile central midfielder, and can play in defensive or an attacking role, but his preferred position is a typical "number 4" defensive midfielder. The starlet has also been linked with Nottingham Forest, but it is widely agreed that Tottenham would be a better option for the Salvador-born player.
