Arsenal planning fresh swoop for Brazilian star

Arsenal are planning a fresh approach for Barcelona winger Raphinha, according to Spanish publication Marca.

The Gunners were hot on the trail of the Brazilian last summer, but he turned them down to join Barcelona from Leeds United.

Raphinha has yet to become a regular starter at Camp Nou, and it is reported that Arsenal want to lure him back to England.

The north London giants have made contact with his agent Deco, but a deal appears difficult at the moment due to two reasons.

Barcelona don't want to lose the player, who was only signed in the summer.

On the other hand, Raphinha is also willing to fight for his future at the club rather than quitting midway through the campaign.

Hence, a deal looks improbable at the moment and barring a huge turn of events, it is unlikely that Raphinha will join Arsenal.

Mikel Arteta's side may have to look at other solutions. They could consider signing Brighton & Hove Albion star Leandro Trossard.
