Graham Potter confirms injury blow for Chelsea midfielder
Chelsea manager Graham Potter has confirmed that midfielder Mateo Kovacic missed the Liverpool game with a minor calf injury.
The Blues played out a frustrating 0-0 draw against the Reds today and following the match, Potter provided an update on Kovacic.
Speaking to reporters, the Blues boss said that the Croatian has tightness in his calf but could be available for the next game against Fulham.
He told ChelseaTV: "He felt a little tightness in his calf."
"We’re hopeful [that he will be back] for Fulham. He felt it at the end of the [Crystal] Palace game.
"So, that’s a blow for us, but we managed it quite well, and credit to the boys that came in."
Chelsea's 0-0 draw against Liverpool means that they remain 10th in the Premier League standings after 20 games into the season.
The Blues are currently 10 points behind the top-four positions and need a huge winning break to bridge the gap before the end of May.
