Man City complete deal for Maximo Perrone

Maximo Perrone moves to Man City

Manchester City have wrapped up a £8 million transfer move for Argentinian midfielder Maximo Perrone from Velez Sarsfield. Perrone has signed a five-and-a-half year contract with the Cityzens, and will be available for the club's game this weekend.

City agreed to pay Perrone's minimum fee release clause, and City have beaten Newcastle United to the transfer. Former Newcastle United midfielder Christian Bassedas of Velez Sarsfield had been responsible for helping to negotiate a deal, but ultimately the player decided that a move to the Etihad Stadium would be better for his career. He will also link up with another Argentinian youngster, Julian Alvarez, at City.

Perrone had played 33 times for Velez, and inr ecent months has caught the eye as one of the best young players in South America. It is hoped that Perrone will add backup to City's midfield ranks, already containing Kalvin Phillips and Rodri, and that the player is seen as a hot prospect for the future at the club.
