Aston Villa complete move for 14.75 million striker
Colombian striker Jhon Duran has signed for Aston Villa from MLS side Chicago Fire in a deal worth £18 million. The 19-year-old has been monitored by the Premier League side for over a year, with the striker scoring eight goals in 28 games for his former club.
Unai Emery continues to rebuild his squad, and the arrival of Duran is seen as a replacement for Danny Ings, who has since left to join West Ham for £15 million.
Unai Emery already signed Alex Moreno from Real Betis as backup for first choice left-back Lucas Digne, and Villa might not yet be done in the transfer market, as the club look to sign other targets.
On completing the move, Duran told the media: “I have all the desire in the world. Lots of desire to work hard, give everything to the team and win. I’m hoping I can play soon.
“I’m a player that plays with a lot of passion who is dedicated to the team and a player that really wants to win always.
“I know it’s the most important league in the world. It’s the best league in the world, and I have all the desire in the world to get on the pitch and score that first goal.”
