Reports from the Daily Mail today suggest that the holding defensive midfielder is a primary target for Crystal Palace, who seek to add to their defensive ranks before the January transfer window closes.

Naouirou Ahamada has been linked with a move to the Premier League, as Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira has met with the midfielder to persuade the youngster to join the Eagles. Ahamada currently plays for Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart, and the French-born defensive midfielder, who previously played for Juventus as a youth player, is ready to make the next leap of his young career, moving to the Premier League.

Stuttgart are currently languishing in the Bundesliga relegation zone, and Ahamada has done well despite the club's lowly position. Vieira may even seen some of himself in the 20-year-old, who like Vieira, hails from France.

The right-footed midfielder is comfortable playing in central midfield, but his preferred position is as a holding midfielder.

He is seen as an ideal acquisition for Palace, who who have been playing Jeffrey Schlupp in holding midfield alongside Cheick Doucouré.
