Chelsea star Thiago Silva contract extension talks underway
Chelsea defender Thiago Silva is locked in talks with the club regarding extending his contract for a further 18 months, as the Brazilian enters the final six months of his current deal at Stamford Bridge. The centre-back has been outstanding since his arrival in West London, and is a firm fan favourite at the Blues.
It is understood that the 38-year-old has already agreed a contract in principle, and it is just the minor details to work out. Thiago Silva has stepped in admirably since the departure of Antonio Rudiger, and despite his age is still performing at the very top of his game.
Chelsea manager Graham Potter has been keen to keep hold of the defender, as the player is now free to discuss terms with another club from abroad, as he enters the final six months of his deal.
It is understood that there has been interest from both France and the player's home country of Brazil, with Flamengo and Sao Paulo rumoured to have made an approach.
