Nicolo Zaniolo talks with Bournemouth commence
Bournemouth have leapfrogged Tottenham in the race to sign AS Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo, as the Cherries have started conversations regarding a potential transfer move to the Premier League with the Italian midfielder. Spurs were believed to be in pole position to sign the talented youngster, but it appears as if South Coast side Bournemouth could now win the race.
It is understood that the player's agent flew to England this week to have conversations with potential suitors, and that Zaniolo is impressed with the package Bournemouth have offered. It is understood that the Cherries have had a bid accepted of 35 million euros this week, and could add Zaniolo to their signing of Matias Vina that was already completed.
The 23-year-old attacking midfielder has played close to 100 Serie A games with Roma, and already appeared 11 times for his country. The 6 foot 3 midfielder is ready to move to England as he transitions out of Serie A.
It is understood that Roma president Dan Friedkin is also a part of the conversations with Bournemouth, as he is reportedly angry with the player's agent.
