Gabriel Martinelli signs new Arsenal contract
Brazilian starlet Gabriel Martinelli has finally agreed to a new contract at Arsenal, signing a contract for four-and-a-half years. The 21-year-old had 18 months remaining on his deal, and has decided to stay put at the Emirates Stadium despite reported interest from Bayern Munich and Liverpool.
Martinelli has been in unstoppable form this campaign, scoring 7 goals in 19 games, and helping lead Arsenal's Premier League title charge, with the Gunners flying high five points clear at the top. The Brazilian youngster was also a member of his country's squad at the World Cup 2022 in Qatar.
In signing a new deal, Martinelli's salary has increased to £125,000 per week, which puts him on par with some of the highest earning players at the Emirates.
Arsenal still seek to sign a deal for William Saliba and Bukayo Saka, their three players reaching the end of their current deals. It is understood that Man City have a long-term interest in Saka, whilst AC Milan and Barcelona are monitoring the situation of Saliba's contract talks in North London.
