Man Utd confirm appeal decision on Casemiro
Manchester United have confirmed that they won't be appealing Casemiro's red card against Southampton on Sunday.
The Brazilian received his marching orders against the Saints after a strong challenge on Carlos Alcaraz in the 34th minute.
He got the ball first before making contact with the player but Anthony Taylor decided to send him off after a VAR review.
United had the choice to appeal the decision but they have decided against as there is not much ground for it to be overturned.
Hence, Casemiro will miss four domestic games for the Mancunian giants, starting from the FA Cup quarter-final vs Fulham.
He will also be absent for the Premier League games against Newcastl United, Brentford and Everton after the international break.
All of those matches are definitely winnable on paper, but Casemiro's absence is definitely a huge blow for the Red Devils.
In Casemiro's absence, Scott McTominay is widely expected to replace him in the number six role. He came off the bench yesterday.
