Chelsea to replace Ben Chilwell with Barcelona star?

Chelsea could reportedly replace Ben Chilwell with Alejandro Balde during the summer transfer window.

The Blues currently have Chilwell and Marc Cucurella as the left-back options, but the former has been tipped to leave.

Chilwell has had an injury-plagued career and he is currently on the radar of Manchester City, who are long-term admirers of him.

It is now reported by Sport that the Blues are lining up a move for Balde whose contract with Barcelona expires next summer.

Balde has yet to be convinced to pen an extension and the Blues are aiming to capitalise on this. They are ready to pay €40m for him.

If Balde were to join the club, it is likely to pave the way for the departure of Chilwell - most likely to the current Premier League holders.

Chilwell was first on the radar of Manchester City during his Leicester City days. Pep Guardiola is still keen on bringing him to the Etihad.
