Chelsea join Man Utd in race to sign French defender
Chelsea have joined Manchester United in the race to sign Monaco defender Axel Disasi this summer.
The Frenchman has been a key player for Monaco over the past two years but he is expected to pursue a bigger challenge.
He has the ambition of playing in the Premier League and Foot Mercato cite that Chelsea and United are in the mix.
United have been keeping tabs on the former Reims man for some time, but Chelsea have now joined the pursuit.
Monaco have set a price tag of €50 million for the central defender and may not accept anything less for him.
Chelsea are currently loaded with central defensive options but there are claims that Kalidou Koulibaly could be sold.
Meanwhile, United could part ways with either Harry Maguire or Victor Lindelof in order to land Disasi.
The 25-year-old is perfectly suited for the Premier League with his strong aerial as well as physical presence.
Aside from the duo, Arsenal have been linked with him in the past.
