Chelsea defender set to miss Real Madrid game
Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly won't play any part against Real Madrid in the Champions League tomorrow.
The Senegal star picked up a hamstring injury in the first leg of the quarter-final tie and he missed the subsequent game versus Brighton.
It has now been revealed that the centre-back is out for several weeks and won't be involved against Los Blancos at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues are trailing by a 2-0 scoreline after the opening leg on the road and they face a huge mountain to climb in front of their fans.
Considering the contrasting fortunes of both teams, it would require a minor miracle for the Blues to reach the last four of the competition.
If Chelsea bow out tomorrow, they could be set for a season without Champions League football. They are currently 11th in the top-flight.
There is a 17-point gap between them and fourth-place Newcastle United which is unlikely to be closed down in the coming weeks.
