Arsenal midfielder wanted by Aston Villa?

Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe has reemerged as a target for Aston Villa ahead of the summer transfer window.

The west Midlands outfit attempted to land the youngster from the Gunners two years ago but their £30 million offer was rejected.

Smith Rowe had a brilliant 2021/22 season with the Gunners but his importance has drastically reduced this campaign.

The 22-year-old had to undergo a surgery in September last year and he only made his comeback to action in late February.

Since then, he has been largely on the bench for the Gunners and this has spread speculation regarding his Gunners future.

Villa are now prepared to make a fresh approach for his services and it remains to be seen how Arsenal respond to it.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has clearly said that he values the club graduate, though he has barely played in the current season.

Smith Rowe could have a bigger role to play in the next campaign.
