Arsenal open talks to sign Chelsea midfielder

Arsenal have reportedly opened talks with the entourage of Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount over a summer transfer.

The England international has been a mainstay for the Blues over the last four years but he could leave this summer.

Mount is about to enter the final year of his deal and he has no plans of penning an extension at the moment.

The hierarchy want him to commit to an eight-year deal but Mount has no desire to accept such contract terms.

Hence, he could be on his way at the end of the campaign and The Telegraph cite that Mount is on the Gunners radar.

Mount can play in the number 10 and number eight roles and could be a handy acquisition for the Premier League leaders.

His versatility would make him a regular starter for the Gunners and he could contribute in the form of goals and assists.

It remains to be seen whether Arsenal make a serious transfer offer. Chelsea may not sell him for less than £60 million.
