Man Utd ready to trigger release clause for World Cup star
Manchester United are prepared to trigger the release clause to sign Dinamo Zagreb goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic this summer.
The 28-year-old had a fabulous World Cup over the winter period. He was largely responsible for Croatia's run to the semi-final.
It is now reported that Livakovic is set to pursue a bigger challenge with Zagreb reluctant to meet his wage demands of €1.2m per year.
United are one of the clubs interested in signing him and it is claimed that they are ready to activate the €10m buy-out clause in his deal.
David de Gea has been United's number one for the past 12 years and talks are currently underway over a new contract with a pay-cut.
Despite this, the club want to bring in a solid competitor and Livakovic could be an ideal signing with his impressive distribution.
The Croatian is better with the ball at his feet than De Gea and could keep the Spaniard on his toes during the 2023/24 campaign.
