Liverpool enter race to sign Man Utd defensive target
Liverpool have entered the race to sign Manchester United target Goncalo Inacio in the summer transfer window.
The 21-year-old has been a key player for Sporting Lisbon over the past few years but he is expected to move on.
He currently has a release clause worth €45m in his contract and O Jogo claim that multiple English clubs are keen.
United have been hot on the trail of him for the past few months but they look set to face competition from Liverpool.
Inacio's agent has reportedly spoken with both clubs ahead of the summer and it could come to playing time assurances.
Meanwhile, Champions League qualification could be another key factor in persuading the highly-rated central defender.
United are in pole position to finish fourth at the moment ahead of Liverpool and this could play into their favour.
Inacio has also been linked with Newcastle United but he has no desire to join them and prefers a top European outfit.
