West Ham make opening bid for Arsenal left-back
West Ham United have made an opening offer to sign Arsenal defender Nuno Tavares this summer.
The Portuguese fell out-of-favour with the Gunners last summer after the arrival of Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City.
He was loaned out to Marseille as a result but the 23-year-old is expected to return to north London at the end of the campaign.
It is now reported by Record that the Hammers have made an enquiry for Tavares. Arsenal won't sell him for less than €8m.
The Gunners paid a similar fee to Benfica in the summer of 2021 and they are expected to hold out for the same to offload him.
Meanwhile, there is regular speculation that Kieran Tierney could also leave the club amid his reduced playing time this term.
Tierney has only played in the top-flight when Zinchenko has been injured. He is currently on the radar of Newcastle United.
The Gunners could demand around £30m to sanction the Scot's sale.
