Newcastle make contact to sign Man Utd target

Newcastle United have reportedly made contact with Monaco to sign Manchester United target Axel Disasi this summer.

The centre-back has been a key player for the Principality outfit, but he has decided to pursue a bigger challenge next season.

United have been his admirers for some time, but Sky Germany claim that the Magpies have made first contact with Monaco.

Eddie Howe's side have yet to make a concrete approach, but they are  leading the race to secure his signature.

United have limited funds for the summer, and an offer for Disasi depends on Harry Maguire heading for the exit door.

The Red Devils have not received any proposals for Maguire thus far, but West Ham United are said to be interested.

The Hammers are planning to make an official offer soon, but it is unclear whether the centre-back is willing to leave.

Maguire has fallen out-of-favour at United, but he has not given up on fighting for his spot under Erik ten Hag.
