Samuel Chukwueze signs for AC Milan
AC Milan have signed one of the continent's brightest prospects in wrapping up a transfer deal for Villarreal forward Samuel Chukuweze. The Nigerian international has penned a five-year contract at the Serie A giants, and is the latest talent to have departed the La Liga side this summer.
In his spell with the Yellow Submarines, Chukuweze went on to score 37 goals in 207 games for the side that he made his debut for back in 2018. He was also a member of the squad that shockingly won the Europa League in 2021 under current Aston Villa manager Unai Emery.
In a statement on the club's official website, AC Milan wrote: "AC Milan is delighted to announce the signing of Samuel Chimerenka Chukwueze from Villarreal CF. The Nigerian forward has signed for the Rossoneri until 30 June 2028."
West Ham and Chelsea were amongst the teams monitoring the situation of Chukuweze, but it is believed that AC Milan had trumped the English duo's final offers of 24 million euros and that the player had his heart set on a move to Italy over England.
