Chelsea in direct talks to sign South American star
Chelsea have reopened talks with Brighton & Hove Albion to finalise the transfer of midfielder Moises Caicedo.
The west London giants have been determined to sign the Ecuadorian for the last two months, but have failed to convince Brighton.
They recently made a formal offer of £80 million for the midfielder, but the Seagulls rejected the proposal immediately.
Brighton currently want nothing less than £100m for his departure, but the Blues remain optimistic of lowering the fee.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Blues are in direct talks with the South Coast outfit, and are hopeful of securing a deal.
Caicedo has made it clear to the Brighton hierarchy that he wants to leave the club, and his wish could be granted soon.
Aside from Caicedo, the Blues are simultaneously considering an approach for Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams.
The USA star currently has a relegation release clause of £20m on his contract, and the Blues are planning to sign him too.
