Arsenal confirm long-term injury for Dutch defender

Arsenal have confirmed that Jurrien Timber will be out for the long-term after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
The Dutchman suffered the setback during the 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest and he is now out for the long-term.
Timber showed plenty of promise for the Gunners in pre-season, and his absence is a big blow for the club going forward.
Oleksandr Zinchenko is available again to play at left-back, but Timber could have kept his spot in the form he was in.
With his injury, the Gunners could be forced to enter the market for a new player, who can play in multiple defensive roles.
Manchester City's Aymeric Laporte was mentioned as a target, but he is currently on the verge of joining Al-Nassr.
The Cityzens also have no interest of selling another player to the Gunners as they consider them as their title rivals.
Arsenal may need to look elsewhere to reinforce the defence. Southampton's Kyle Walker-Peters could be an option.
