Harry Maguire to stay at Man Utd
After a deal to leave Manchester United in favour of West Ham fell through, Harry Maguire will stay at Old Trafford for at least another season, unless a deal is rushed through before the transfer window closes. Maguire had been linked with a deal to move to West Ham, but a deal could not be agreed between the two clubs.
Maguire was a record defensive signing for United, with the club paying close to £80 million for the former Leicester City and Hull City defender. However, the Irons were not willing to match Man Utd's transfer valuation which is close to £40 million.
Maguire will now stay at Old Trafford for the current season, and hopes he can continue his good form for England's national side.
"Harry knows what I expect from a centre half. He can do it," Ten Hag said after the deal collapsed.
"He has the abilities to do it, so he has to show it. It's about character, to be convinced to play that role. He has all the abilities and it's up to him when the time is there."
