Lucas Paqueta deal to Man City collapses

Man City's proposed transfer move to sign Brazil and West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta has collapsed at the last minute, as the player now insists that he wants to stay with the Hammers. The talented playmaker has decided that now is the time to stay put and now City will need to go back to the transfer market to find alternative transfers.
Paqueta caught the eye towards the end of his debut season in England, helping West Ham win the Europa League and guarantee survival in the top flight.
City have seen multiple departures this transfer window, none more notable than that of Ilkay Gundogan, who helped the club win their first Champions League title and a treble.
It is understood Paqueta was seen as the perfect replacement for Gundogan. City were weighing up an offer of £82 million for the player.
However, City will now go back to the transfer market to find an alternative, and try to persuade Bernardo Silva that staying at the Etihad Stadium is the right thing to do for at least one more season.
