Nuno Tavares set for Aston Villa move?
Aston Villa are considering a transfer swoop for Arsenal winger Nuno Tavares before the transfer window closes, in a deal that suggests the Villa Park outfit are looking to bolster their attacking options before the transfer window closes. Nuno Tavares has fallen out of favour at the Emirates Stadium and would be allowed to leave this summer.
After a decent loan spell in Ligue 1 with Marseille last year, Nuno Tavares has returned to North London, but club manager Mikel Arteta has already informed the Portuguese youngster that he is not in his plans for the 2023/24 season.
Unai Emery, the Villa coach, is an admirer of Nuno Tavares and sees no problem with the transfer fee, a reported £17 million.
Other clubs are interested in the left-sided player, including French duo Metz and Lille, whilst several other Premier League teams could make a last minute bid.
Arsenal are not keen on a temporary loan deal, and would prefer to sell Tavares on a permanent deal to ensure they can cover their own expenditure in the transfer window.
