Chelsea midfielder suffers knee injury vs West Ham
Chelsea midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka suffered a knee injury during Sunday's Premier League clash against West Ham United.
The 19-year-old made the starting line-up for the second game running and he made a huge impression by scoring the club's equaliser in the first half.
However, he suffered a knee injury right before the interval and required assistance from Chelsea's medical staff to leave the playing field.
Mykhailo Mudryk replaced him following the interval and it appears the former Villa graduate could be sidelined for a number of months.
Chukwuemeka was spotted leaving Stamford Bridge on crutches which is not a good sign. A formal update is expected in the next 24 hours.
The Blues have had the worst possible start to the new Premier League season with just one point from their first two matches.
They will be aiming to change their fortunes in the coming weeks with winnable fixtures against Luton Town and Nottingham Forest.
In between those, they have a League Cup second round tie against AFC Wimbledon which should be a fairly routine victory for them.
