Arsenal have confirmed the departure of Kieran Tierney to Real Sociedad on a season-long loan agreement.

The Scotland international fell out-of-favour with the Gunners last term after the arrival of Oleksandr Zinchenko.

He made only six starts in the Premier League season, and he has now been permitted to move to Sociedad on loan.

Tierney was officially presented by Sociedad earlier today. Simultaneously, Arsenal also confirmed his departure.

There is no buy-back clause as part of the deal, but the La Liga giants will have the first option to present an offer.

Despite Tierney's exit, Arsenal have sufficient depth in the left-back department for the ongoing campaign.

Zinchenko is the first choice for the role. Behind him, they have the likes of Takehiro Tomiyasu and Jakub Kiwior.

Jurrien Timber started in the position during the curtain-raiser, but he is out for around six months with a knee injury.

The Dutchman recently underwent a surgery for the same and looks set to miss the majority of his debut season.
