Reguilon signs for Manchester United
Sergio Reguilon has moved from Tottenham to Premier League rivals Man Utd on a season long loan deal, with an option to end the agreement in January should the player not be appearing on a regular basis for the Old Trafford side. The Spanish left-back has been brought in for the injured Luke Shaw, who will miss a few months of action.
The defender had been expected to return to his home country, after Villarreal tabled a 7 million euro bid. However, after that transfer bid was rejected, Spurs decided to let the player leave on a loan deal to one of their rivals.
Upon completing the transfer, Reguilon told reporters: “Having spoken to the manager, I know what he needs from me, and I am ready to play my part in helping the team to achieve success.
“I know that I can contribute to Manchester United this season; I am ready to fight for this group and show everyone my qualities.”
It is understood that there is no agreement in place for a permanent transfer at the conclusion of this deal.
