Real Madrid star regrets turning down Chelsea & Liverpool interest
Real Madrid star Federico Valverde regrets turning down interest from Chelsea and Liverpool during the summer transfer window.
The Uruguayan was a regular starter for Los Blancos last season. He played in a more advanced role under manager Carlo Ancelotti, and was hugely successful over the entire campaign.
Despite this, the 25-year-old is said to be concerned regarding his playing time this season with Ancelotti opting to change to a 4-3-1-2 system against Getafe before the international break.
Valverde was only a late substitute in the 2-1 win over Getafe where Joselu and Rodygo were paired up together. Ancelotti could stick with a similar system following Karim Benzema's exit.
As a result, Nacional claim that Valverde is concerned over his minutes going forward and regrets the decision to turn down a move to the Premier League with Chelsea and Liverpool.
Real Madrid have made a fantastic start to their La Liga season with four wins out of four. Summer signing Jude Bellingham has made the difference with two late winning goals this term.
