Hill-Wood: Arsenal not for sale

Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood has again reiterated that Arsenal are not for sale. In light of David Dein selling his stake in the club to Alisher Usmanov for £75m and Stan Kroenke purchasing shares in the club, Hill-Wood has again moved to announce the current board will not sell up.

Hill-Wood when questioned on the potential sale quipped, "The major shareholders have no intention of selling and wouldn't welcome an offer.

"We will have a dialogue with any principal or major shareholder. If they have got some sensible proposals we will listen to them."

Ex-Vice Chairman Dein recently sold the club and announced that he did it with the club's best interests at heart, noting that rivals have foreign investors and Arsenal would need some considerable investment to maintain their position in the Premiership.

Hill Wood said, "I have no objection to foreign investors coming into the Premier League, it's going to be beneficial.

"Most of them are investment people and they're not buying

into clubs because they have the passion for the local team they have supported since they were two years old.

"They think that football and the Premier League is an attractive investment and they want a return on that."
