Real Madrid right back Sergio Ramos has once again insisted that he is happy at the Santiago Bernabeu and that he is not even remotely thinking about moving on to another club in the future.

Ramos, still only 22 years if age and rated as one of the best right backs in the world, came under some speculation a couple of weeks ago when he expressed at the lack of support from the Real Madrid board and playing staff for his red card against Real Mallorca in a Spanish league fixture.

That set the transfer wheel rotating with a host of clubs’ names thrown into the hat to prize away the Spanish international from the Bernabeu. Ramos has since then come out and apologized for his public criticism of the club and has now emphasized that he wants to play on at Real Madrid for good and that he shall retire at Madrid.

Ramos said:

“I am very sure that I am staying.

“I am flattered that great teams like AC Milan or Chelsea are interested in me. That is a sign that things are going well for me and drives you on to keep improving and playing better for Real Madrid.

“I have a very long contract and the only thing I think about is retiring here. I am very comfortable with my teammates, the club, the city and so are my family.

“Also I feel calm. I have renewed my contract and I am very pleased with the deal I have, although one always aspires to improve and grow in every aspect.”

Sergio Ramos was signed by Real Madrid from Sevilla FC in the summer of 2005 and although he took time to settle in his first season, for the last couple of seasons, he has been one of the best players for the Merengues and one of the most important factors in driving Rea to two consecutive La Liga titles.
