Bayern Munich want to sign Man Utd star in January

Bayern Munich are keen on signing Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay when the transfer window reopens.

The German champions were determined to land Joao Palhinha from Fulham over the summer, and a deal was almost complete.

Palhinha underwent his medical and completed his media duties with Bayern, but Fulham recalled him after failing to sign a replacement.

The Portuguese was distraught after missing out on the transfer, but he recently made the surprise decision to sign a new contract.

As a result, a winter deal could be difficult to pull off for Bayern, and The Sun claim that they could target the transfer of McTominay.

Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel is a huge admirer of the Scotland star, and has followed his performances from his time as Chelsea manager.

United wanted around £45 million to part ways with McTominay, and Bayern could easily afford the fee in the next transfer window.

They were ready to pay around £56m to land Palhinha from Fulham.
