Mauricio Pochettino provides update on Mykhailo Mudryk's injury
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has provided an injury update on Mykhailo Mudryk following the 2-0 Premier League win at Fulham yesterday.
The Blues returned to winning ways in the top-flight with a superb display at Craven Cottage. It was a memorable one for Mudryk, who scored his first-ever goal for the club.
However, the Ukrainian had to be substituted at the half-time interval with a concern and speaking after the game, Pochettino said that he felt something in his quad muscle.
He said: "He felt something in his quad which we need to assess. He didn’t feel comfortable to keep playing. We hope it’s not a big issue, we hope it’s nothing big and he can be available for Saturday."
Mudryk has had a difficult start to his Chelsea career and he has managed only three goal contributions for the club since his move from Shakhtar in January this year.
This has piled the pressure on him from fans as well as pundits. He is now starting to find his feet and Pochettino will be hoping that he is available for the weekend.
