Liverpool handed blow with attacker out for weeks
Liverpool have been handed an injury blow with Cody Gakpo on the sidelines for several weeks.
The Netherlands international picked up a knee problem in the 2-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur and he was substituted at the break.
In his post-match press conference, manager Jurgen Klopp confirmed a serious concern for the player and AD state the same.
The Dutch outlet reveal that Gakpo is expected to miss several weeks of action but the exact timescale has yet to be determined.
In Gakpo's absence, Klopp has Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez, who can lead the line, but the former is suspended for the Brighton game.
Jota came in the second half for Gakpo but he was sent off for two yellow card offences. He will now serve one-man league suspension.
Prior to the Brighton game, Liverpool will be in Europa League action against Union Saint-Gilloise at Anfield on Thursday night.
The game offers the opportunity for Klopp to ring in the changes.
