Scolari to stay on after 2008
Portugal's Brazilian coach Luiz Filipe Scolari is apparently in talks with the Portuguese FA regarding extending his contract until the 2010 World Cup. Scolari had been expected to stand down in 2008.
The president of the Portuguese Football Federation Gilberto Madail is known to be an admirer of what Scolari has achieved during his time at the helm and would not be averse to securing his services for a further two years.
"Big Phil" had been linked with a host of clubs in the Premiership including Man Utd and Chelsea; whilst also being a hot favorite for the England job after Steve McLaren.
