Erik ten Hag reacts to Scott McTominay's heroics vs Brentford
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has reacted to Scott McTominay's heroic performance against Brentford in the Premier League.
The Red Devils had a poor outing against the Bees at Old Trafford and they went behind 1-0 midway through the first half after an Andre Onana error.
The club were seemingly on the verge of a defeat before McTominay's dramatic late goals in the 93rd and 97th minute of the game.
Speaking after the surprise win, Ten Hag praised McTominay saying: "You know with Scott you get drive and energy on the pitch."
"He can make a goal, he can arrive and his willingness is very strong. His feeling for this club is very strong, he plays with all his heart. He will always defend the colours of this club."
McTominay has been a fringe player since the start of the campaign. He was widely fancied to leave the club last summer.
After his stunning cameo today, the Scot could force his way back into the starting line-up following the international break.
United, who are now ninth in the league standings, face Sheffield United on the road. The match will be played on October 21.
