Man Utd enter race to sign Chelsea defender in January
Manchester United have joined the race to sign Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah during the January transfer window.
Chalobah was heavily linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge last summer, but he declined to head for the exit door.
The centre-back was keen on joining Bayern Munich on loan, but Chelsea preferred to offload him permanently to Nottingham Forest.
As a result, there was a disagreement and Chalobah was happy to stay until the New Year in order to receive better transfer offers.
It is now reported by Calciomercato that United are planning to join the pursuit of the Blues graduate ahead of next window.
Erik ten Hag was desperate for a marquee centre-back last summer, and the hierarchy could fulfil his promise by signing Chalobah.
The Englishman is open to pursuing a move abroad, but United will be aiming to convince him to prolong his Premier League career.
He won't come on the cheap for any interested outfit. Chelsea are likely to demand at least £45 million to part ways with his services.
