Evans injured vs Copenhagen

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed a muscle injury for Jonny Evans during last night's Champions League clash against Copenhagen on the road.

The Red Devils suffered their ninth loss of the campaign against the Danish champions yesterday. During the game, Evans was substituted in the first half with an injury.

When asked in the post-match press conference, Ten Hag said: "He has to come off. I think it was a pity because he was part of it from that good part in the game where we were controlling, very composed and calm."

With his injury, Raphael Varane came off the bench to partner Harry Maguire in central defence. The Frenchman had a tough outing and was often caught unaware.

The World Cup winner has been a fringe player for the manager and he did little to prove his worth. He could be replaced by Victor Lindelof in the heart of the defence this weekend.
