Chelsea planning summer swoop for Nigerian star

Chelsea may not pursue a new striker in January with the aim of signing Victor Osimhen at the end of the season.

The Nigerian star has been a fantastic performer for Napoli in Serie A and he has netted more than 30 goals in the division since last season.

His form has caught the eye of the Blues and they could have the opportunity to sign him when he enters the final year of his contract.

Osimhen's current deal expires in the summer of 2025 and he has shown no intention of putting pen-to-paper on a renewal at Napoli.

The Italian champions are bound to consider his exit next summer and this is expected to open the opportunity for the Blues to land him.

Osimhen was a boyhood Chelsea fan and he has publicly admitted that he has a jersey of the west London giants with him.

The Blues may need to spend at least €100m to prise him away from the Naples outfit during next summer's transfer window.
