Chelsea identify Victor Osimhen as top January target

Chelsea have identified Napoli striker Victor Osimhen as their top target for the January transfer window, according to The Telegraph.

The Blues spent huge money during last summer's transfer window but they have continued to struggle in the Premier League.

The club are currently 10th in the standings and are already 12 points adrift of the Champions League after just 13 games in.

They could force the Blues to spend on a marquee striker in the New Year and it is reported that Osimhen is the main objective.

The Blues have been monitoring his performances for a while and are prepared to make an approach in the next window.

The big question is whether Napoli would consider parting ways with him at the midway stage of their title-defence season.

Napoli have a difficult owner in Aurelio De Laurentiis who may prefer to wait until the summer to negotiate for Osimhen.

He remains optimistic of keeping Osimhen with a new deal, but the striker has declined to extend beyond the summer of 2025.
