Arsenal set sights on signing Sao Paulo midfielder
Arsenal have set their sights on signing Sao Paulo midfielder Pablo Maia during the winter transfer window.
The Gunners are exploring a new defensive midfielder in January and they have already been linked with several names.
Maia is one of those on their transfer radar and reports claim that they could make an approach at the turn of the year.
The north London giants value him in the region of €20m but Sao Paulo are likely to hold out for a higher sum for his sale.
They have agreed to sell centre-back Lucas Beraldo to Paris Saint-Germain and have also secured stadium naming rights.
Hence, they are in no hurry to part ways with their defensive midfielder unless they receive a significant transfer offer.
It remains to be seen whether the Gunners will offer something around €35-40 million for the 21-year-old sensation.
Arsenal are also looking to sign a new striker in January. Brentford's Ivan Toney is the priority target for the club.
