Chelsea to miss out on Victor Osimhen to Arsenal?

Chelsea could miss out on signing Napoli striker Victor Osimhen to Arsenal during the summer transfer window.

The Nigerian is one of the best centre-forwards in Serie A and he has been touted to move to the Premier League this summer.

Osimhen currently has a release clause worth €130 million in his deal and it is quite clear that Napoli won't accept anything less.

Chelsea are one of the clubs prepared to trigger the clause, but reports in Italy claim that Arsenal could beat them to the striker.

Osimhen has previously admitted that he was a boyhood Chelsea fan, but their lack of progress could hamper their pursuit.

The 25-year-old is likely to want the guarantee of Champions League football which the Blues won't be able to offer next term.

Arsenal, on the other hand, are in pole position to do so as they are currently eight points ahead of Tottenham in fifth.

The Gunners have been on the up in recent years and are more likely to challenge for regular trophies compared to Chelsea.
