Chelsea & Man City vying to sign Inter Milan defender

Chelsea and Manchester City could go head-to-head to sign Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni this summer.

The 24-year-old has been a key player for the Nerazzurri and he only recently put pen-to-paper on a long-term contract.

However, this has not ended the speculation over his future and reports claim that the Nerazzurri could sell him for the right price.

The San Siro giants have looked to balance their books after every season with a big-money sale and Bastoni could be next.

Both Chelsea and City are keeping tabs on the highly-rated star and there could be a bidding war at the end of the season.

Inter are likely to demand close to €70 million for the Italy international, who has the ambition of playing in the Premier League.

Chelsea are looking for a replacement for Thiago Silva and Bastoni could be an ideal fit to operate from the left centre-back role.

However, with Champions League football unlikely for another year, they could miss out on the left-footed star to the Cityzens.
