Chelsea fear missing out on Victor Osimhen
Chelsea fear that they could miss out on signing Napoli striker Victor Osimhen this summer due to Financial Fair Play reasons.
The Nigerian has been earmarked as a top target for the Blues and they have already made contact with his representative over a transfer.
However, a move is far from straightforward. Napoli will want his €130 million release clause to be triggered in one full payment this summer.
That could prove a stumbling block for the Blues, who are set to receive lesser revenue if they don't qualify for Europe next season.
The club missed out on a potential Europa Conference League spot last weekend after losing to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final
They now need to either win the FA Cup or finish in the top seven in the league to qualify for Europe. Neither is guaranteed for now.
Hence, a deal could depend on recouping funds from player sales, and this could see their European rivals leapfrog them in Osimhen's pursuit.
Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in the former Lille man and they could tempt him with Champions League football.
