Man Utd looking to sign Belgian defensive star

Manchester United are reportedly interested in landing Royal Antwerp midfielder Mandela Keita in the summer.

The Red Devils are likely to pursue a young defensive midfielder in the next transfer window and they are looking at several candidates.

Keita is one of those that has impressed them and Het Nieuwsblad claim that they have been monitoring him closely in recent months.

The club have also made contact with his agent to gain more information and could make an approach for his services in the summer.

Casemiro and Sofyan Amrabat have been touted to pursue new challenges. The former has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia.

Keita is not a big-name in European football but the Belgian ace has made a huge impression for Antwerp over the last 18 months.

Antwerp recently sold teenager Arthur Vermeeren to Atletico Madrid for €20m up front and they may demand a similar fee.

Aside from United, West Ham and Nottingham Forest are among Premier League clubs that are also interested in the midfielder.
