Arsenal very impressed by 41-goal striker ahead of possible move
Arsenal are very impressed by the progress made by Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres during the current campaign.
The Gunners are on the hunt for a marquee centre-forward and they have identified Gyokeres as one of their prime targets.
The Swede has been sensational in his debut campaign for Sporting. He has netted a stunning 41 goals while providing 15 assists.
Jornal de Noticias report that Arsenal are very impressed with him after scouting the whole season and could make a move soon.
Gyokeres currently has a release clause worth €100m in his contract and Sporting are likely to hold out for the same figure to sell.
The Portuguese champions would ideally like to keep the striker for another season, but the striker could be tempted to pursue a bigger challenge.
Gyokeres was on the radar of Premier League clubs such as West Ham United last summer, but no one was prepared to take a gamble.
The striker has defied critics by becoming an even better striker from his time in the Championship with Coventry City last season.
