Man Utd front-runners to sign Brazilian defender

Manchester United are reportedly front-runners to land the signature of Gleison Bremer from Juventus this summer.

The Red Devils have had a tough time with injuries this term and a number of central defenders have been in the treatment room.

Raphael Varane is one of those and he could be leaving on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of the June.

Bremer has been identified as a suitable replacement and Gazzetta dello Sport claim that United are in the lead to sign him.

The Bianconeri are in need of transfer funds for a summer spending spree and they are prepared to part ways with Bremer.

He currently has a release clause of €60m valid for next summer but the club are prepared to accept a similar transfer fee.

United have already spoken with the player's representatives and could press ahead with an approach in the coming weeks.

The hierarchy could look into a quick deal for the former Torino man.
