Arsenal ready to pay £60m to sign 43-goal striker
Arsenal are prepared to pay around £60 million to sign Sporting Lisbon striker Victor Gyokeres this summer, according to The Sun.
The Gunners are determined to sign a marquee striker in the current transfer window and they are looking at multiple options in the market.
Benjamin Sesko was the prime target earlier this month, but the Slovenian is no longer available after penning a fresh deal with Leipzig.
Hence, Arsenal need to look at alternatives and The Sun claim that they are prepared to pay around £60m for Gyokeres this summer.
The Swede was sensational for the Primeira Liga giants last term, scoring 43 goals and providing another 15 assists in all competitions.
Gyokeres currently has a release clause worth £85m in his deal and reports claim that Sporting are reluctant to sell for anything less.
The news is a potential blow for the Gunners. The club have a huge budget, but they don't want to overspend on a solitary signing.
